Important Communication

This is for general information that corresponding to B.Com CBCS (Hons/Gen) course, according to clause 7.13 of CSR/64/17 of University of Calcutta, if any candidate fails to secure pass marks in one or more papers of a semester, that candidate may appear in those papers when the concerned end semester examination will be held next time. There is no provision of supplementary examinations in the CBCS system.

For B.Com. Part III (Hons/ Gen) course, as the present batch of B.Com Part III students are unsuccessful candidates of the previous years and hence this batch is not a regular batch, they may clear their backlog papers in Part I or Part II examinations when such examinations will be held next time.

For candidates appearing in B.A/B.Sc. Part III (Hons./Gen/Major) Examination, 2020, according to CSR/30/13, all the previous supplementary examinations have been conducted in February, 2020 and results have already been published. As supplementary examinations cannot be held twice in a year, those will be conducted again in 2021. Supplementary examinations are expected to be held early in 2021.

The Principals of Government-aided colleges of West Bengal are dismayed at and deeply concerned about the acts of vandalism including the shameful wrecking of the bust of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar which were perpetrated at two renowned institutions of higher learning in Kolkata on 14th May, 2019. Acts of this type violate the sanctity of educational institutions and tend to strike at the root of our rich cultural heritage. Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar symbolized the spirit of modern India, and his name is revered in every home in Bengal to this day. Vandalizing his bust will invite only condemnation. We urge upon all not to indulge in any such act which only tarnishes the image of Bengal. May good sense prevail.
